Deleting users or user data from systems

We cannot delete user information because doing so would compromise data integrity. If a user is requesting their data to be deleted then the best course of action is to make sure that any active rentals and memberships that they have are ended or canceled, respectively. Users can also disable email notifications in the Movatic app by turning off "Email Notifications" in the profile settings. At that point they will not receive any contact or charges from Movatic.

Since our app processes rentals, memberships, payments, hardware unlocks, etc., we need to keep records of which users take these actions. Deleting user data would prevent us from being able to accurately audit the systems and from being to provide support in case of refunds, claims, etc. Therefore we do not delete user records, but if they wish to stop receiving emails we can disable that. They can also changes their name and email to something random if they do not wish that to remain in our system and we’ll definitely remove their credit card information.
