General

What are the high-level critical path items that need attention if we decide to proceed with Tandem for our bikeshare program?
  1. Confirmation of scope and size

  2. Confirmation of quote

  3. Contract execution

  4. Launch preparation (opportunity for refreshed branding if desired, lock & tech transition, etc)

  5. Community engagement and rider marketing (we can provide support in terms of brainstorming ideas and helping to create an action plan for you and other local stakeholders)

  6. Bikeshare launch & ribbon cutting / PR event

What limitations does Tandem have regarding the use of its hardware and software in a bike share mobility program? Can external hardware be sourced while using Tandem's software?

Tandem is asset agnostic; you can use hardware from any source. However, we exclusively operate on our own software.

We have the bikes, can you provide us with the software only?

Tandem offers comprehensive bikeshare solutions, including hardware, Movatic-powered software, operations, and customer support. For software-only services, please contact our partner, Movatic.

How quickly can Tandem Mobility launch a bike share program once funding is secured?

This depends on the fleet size. Usually, we are able to launch the program successfully within 2 months after funding/sponsorship has been acquired.

Is there a minimum or maximum duration for engaging with Tandem Mobility's bike share program, and what flexibility is offered in terms of contract lengths?

Tandem Mobility typically requires a minimum 5-year contract, anticipating that sponsors will commit for this duration. However, there's an opt-out clause after the first year if the community agreement is canceled. We are flexible with contract lengths.

What terms and conditions are included in the Master Level Agreement?

Please click here for our Standard Master Service Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding.

What kind of permits or allowances would Tandem need to acquire before operating?

We would need to secure location agreements with private owners or permits from local agencies for station placements as per the location's requirement.
