Program Overview
In the Classic Turnkey Bikeshare model, the local contract holder is the main player. The contract holder handles the whole funding part, whether it's from grants, sponsors, budgets, or partnerships. The contract holder also keeps half of what riders pay, decides how the program looks, sets the prices, and takes the lead in educating and encouraging everyone to join the bikeshare fun.
Contract Holder's Responsibilities
Is responsible for 100% of the program funding (whether by grants, sponsorships, budget allocation, or other partnerships)
Retains 50% of rider revenue
Determines program branding & rider pricing
Leads education & encouragement initiatives
Tandem's Responsibilities
Hardware (bikes, stations)
Software (powered by Movatic)
Branding
Maintenance Operations
24/7 Rider Support
Account Management
Insurance
Revenue Share (50% to contract holder)
Important Notes:
Contract term: 5 years. Pilot programs & contracts of less than 5 years are subject to one-time upfront fees, depending on the asset type being launched. Upon successful contract extension, one-time fees will roll over and reduce the year 5 financial obligation.
